This particular thermowell is 16" long with no fittings welded on. Unlike most of our other thermowells, this OD is exactly 3/8" or 9.5mm. The interior of the tube will accept up to .3", 19/64" or 7.5mm probes.
The top open end of the tubing is slightly flared open to keep it from falling through a stopper or other kind of fitting. When used with standard drilled stoppers, the fit is slightly loose as it will slide through with little effort but once the stopper is jammed into your vessel hole it will tighten up the fit on the stopper.
The other way to install this unit is to use one of the DUOTIGHT bulkhead fittings meant for 9.5mm OD tubing. This will also give you height adjustability.
Thermowells are devices that install into your vessels (or within your threaded plumbing) that allow a thermometer, digital thermometer probe, or temperature controller sensor to be inserted but kept isolated from the liquid the thermowell is immersed in.
