Rather than create a new hose, I used this fitting to connect the 2" TC drain on my unitank to my brew pump for CIP. It mated just fine with the existing quick disconnect on my brewing hoses. I try to buy the QDs in male and female pairs but gave this one a shot first. Be aware that there can be some differences between manufacturers for BLQDs which is also noted by Bobby in the product descriptions. If the part doesn't mate up with your existing female QD, that could be the reason or you might need a new gasket for the female side even.
