The new, highly anticipated, Spike TANK kettles feature the same high end build quality you've come to expect from Spike with the addition of dished bottom with center-bottom drain. The sole purpose for the bottom drain is to give you the ability to fully clean the kettle without ever moving it. This is known as CIP or "Clean In Place" and is a practice inspired by pro brewers who have the inability to lay their huge kettle on its side. The bottom of the kettle is slightly convex so that liquid will fully run out under gravity. The kettle also includes a large TC elbow with horizontal extension to bring the butterfly valve into a more accessible position. Note that the valve itself is not included, you will need to purchase a 1.5" TC butterfly valve. The bottom drain is not meant to be used for clean wort runoff as any whirlpooling will put hops and sediment directly over the drain.

Spike offers several standard configurations, HLT, Boil Kettle and Mash Tuns (with or without manway doors) but this particular item is the bare bones kettle with ONLY the bottom drain port and no additional side ports. Any side mounted TC ports needed will be added at BrewHardware.com in house.
