We are offering these silver soldering kits as a convenience for those who are looking to solder in either a welding spud, pull through bulkhead or Tri-Clover element kit. These kits work for soldering stainless steel due to the aggressive acid flux liquid (hint: regular paste flux will not work, don't bother trying). While you can use other types of solder, the silver content in this kit makes for a stronger joint on items that have temperature fluxuations while in use.
Note that these kits are NOT the same as other Harris soldering kits you'll find online. Ours contains Harris Stay Brite #8 which is 6% silver content vs. the Harris/Radnor kits only having 4% silver content. We are able to do this because we purchase these products in bulk and repackage as shown in the picture.
Again, with our kits you get .5oz of 6% silver content solder and .5 fluid ounce of Liquid Stay Clean Flux which is enough to solder in approximately 3 of the solder on TC ferrules or pull through bulkheads.
Note that the solder in this kit will likely run out before the flux does so if you want to make it last longer, you may add on another half ounce of solder as an accessory.
Works on almost all metals you'd use in your brewery, copper, stainless, brass, etc EXCEPT for aluminum. Stainless to copper? No problem.
Using this kit requires either a propane or MAPP gas torch. Use in a well ventilated area and wear protective gear.
