These Stainless Steel "Cool Touch" fittings are a hybrid between a traditional NPT fitting and a quick disconnect. The female NPT side is cut a little loose so it will fully thread on to any 1/2" male NPT fitting to allow the included captured silicone O-ring to seat and seal. We hesitate to call them quick disconnects because you have to thread them on and off a few rotations just like a garden hose connector, but the one advantage these have is that they don't require a 2-piece design like other disconnect "sets". We call them Cool Touch fittings because the area that you grip to thread the fittings on is wrapped in silicone rubber that doesn't get as hot as the metal.

This particular fitting has a 90 degree 1/2" hose barb on the other end which will accommodate 1/2" ID hoses (or 3/8" ID silicone)

Does not fit Blichmann Therminator	November 8, 2024

I purchased this part along with the cool touch straight barb connect for my Blichmann Therminator chill plate. The straight barb fit perfectly (the one with the KegLand printing along the top), but the angled barb does not thread completely, leaving the angled barb loose and wort spraying out the top of the fitting. This is likely due to the threads being cut differently on the FNPT. This may work fine with other NPT fittings, just not the Therminator. The part is fine, just doesn't work for my purposes.

I use these for overlanding trailer water system builds that run 1/2 npt connections. This product is truly unique in its design, quality and build. I spent hours searching online for this product, and while there are many similar looking adapters, this one is by far the best. Please don't stop making them. :)
