Description

Use this kit to turn a 1/4" NPT threaded dial thermometer into its own weldless bulkhead for installing into a tank or kettle. You can buy these parts separately but this is a common combination of parts and the kit is slightly discounted. Includes 9/16" ID, 1/16" thick SS washer, 1/8" thick silicone gasket, and the 1/4" NPS locknut. The locknut does NOT have an oring groove on one side.

The best way to use the kit is leave the SS washer on the thermometer, wrap the threads with plenty of teflon tape, push the thermometer through the hole in your vessle, then apply the gasket and locknut inside.

I got these to create a seal to the bottom a corny lid, between lid and a washer and lock nut on one side, and a washer and a fixed bolt on the other side. The seal is important because l'm connecting a compression fitting for some tubing that will function as a cooling/heating coil in my fermenter, and I need to keep the fermenter pressurized.

I recently decided to convert my 20 year old kettle to electric and add some goodies, a thermometer and whirlpool arm. You advertised the 1/4" NPT weldless kit, nut, washer and seal, saying the nut had a slot/groove for the seal.. the nut sent was flat on both sides, and had a burr in one side I had to file down to make it usable at all.. Not the best advertisement or quality product!!
