This charge is for drilling single hole in a customer's vessel, pulling a flare and TIG welding a 1.5" or 2" TC ferrule. If we are doing this install on a brand new pot that is to be shipped to the customer, the install location must be clearly described in the check out notes, via email, etc.
We understand that your precious brewing vessel is not an old trailer hitch in need of a quick bush-fix. We use custom made tooling to ensures that the weld is protected from oxygen. The interior of the welded area will remain clean and generally smooth.
For this particular labor charge, we also grind, hone or polish the interior of the TC ferrule to bring it to a sanitary finish. We also have another labor option that does not include grind and polish finish work for a few dollars less if budget is a concern.
This is what the polished version would typically look like on the inside.
We can usually do this job while the customer waits but we can't guarantee that. You may want to call ahead to make sure we have enough coverage in the store.
