If you bought a pot with a welded coupling for the drain ball valve, installing this diptube on the inside will help you drain most of the liquid out. We've always suggested using a regular street elbow as a budget way of doing this, but these new purpose built diptubes don't have the problem of the internal threads that can hide soil. If you plan to use our pull through solder in bulkheads, this is a great upgrade. As shown in the second image, the reach of the tube is 1.5" down from the center point of the thread in fitting. It can be trimmed if needed.
Note that the tubing portion of this diptube is really big. The OD is 5/8" and the ID is 9/16" for superior flow compared to all the other "maximizers" you find available.
