Electric brewing is all the rage and it's important to remember that electrical components and high humidity environments really don't mix. If you brew electric for long enough, you'll find that electrical plugs and receptacles can become oxidized and the connection begins to degrade. If the condition is allowed to worsen, such as not regularly shining up your electrical blades, you can overheat your connections on the heating elements and even melt the connectors. Poor connectivity leads to arcing which makes the connection even worse.
We have been testing various preventive measures and have come across a product called Conductive Assembly Paste. For the full manufacturer's description, see below.
Unfortunately the smallest container available is 25mL and that is quite expensive considering you'll only use about a tenth of a milliliter per application. We have gone through the arduous process of repackaging 1ml into syringes and include a small application brush to get a very thin coating on your element blades. A little goes a long way and don't get it on your clothing unless you want a permanent black stain.
