This kit is primarily designed for fermenters that can handle at least 2psi of pressure (such as the fermonster) to ensure adequate pushing of the liquid. We still recommend placing the fermenter up higher than the receiving keg just to have a gravity assist. The hole size required for these bulkheads is just over 1/2" which we usually achieve by drilling to 1/2" and letting the step bit slightly open up the hole for a perfect tight fit.

Materials are 304 stainless steel and silicone. You will find other similar kits out there manufactured by the same company, but you should know that the gaskets that seal the bulkheads to your lid can easily roll out of position if you even slightly overtighten them. Our "True" bulkhead design uses a machined groove in the base of the fitting to fully capture the oring from rolling out of position. You literally cannot overtighten these.
