Good once calibrated May 21, 2016 Reviewer: Jason Floor from Scottsdale, AZ United States   Be sure to calibrate your thermometer! One of mine was calibrated perfectly, and the adjustment screw worked well on it. The other one I got was off about 5 degrees(using the boiling water method) and I had to calibrate it, and the screw was really stiff and only adjusted the dial in one direction so I had to rotate the dial a little less than 360 degrees each time since it would only turn one way.  They both work perfectly though after calibration. Put on a happy face! March 12, 2016 Reviewer: Mark Kutil from Germantown, TN United States   The dial is bright, easy to read, and well marked. Fully adjustable for proper calibration. The short probe is perfect for my mash tun and won't interfere with the mesh bag when doing a BIAB batch. Love it. Was this review helpful to you?

Hefty Thermometer, prone to internal condensation January 19, 2015 Reviewer: Justin M from Columbus, OH United States   On arrival, this thermometer feels quite substantial and looks sharp with easy to read numbers. I ended up installing two of these on two different brew kettles, not using heat shields. On both of these, I got severe condensation within the unit to the point that the temp was unreadable. Bobby was great in sending me two new units, and I opted for the heat shields. I just installed and tested the new units on the same brew kettles, this time with the heat shields - and unfortunately I am still getting some slight condensation in these, but not to the same degree as before. My expectation was that they would remain perfectly clear, but I'm thinking that it's just the design of the case since I observed it with 4 separate units. If you are using propane, make sure to get the shields too, or you will quickly require a replacement. Was this review helpful to you?
