5 of 5 Steam slayer ROCKS! March 25, 2024
Reviewer: Vincent from Maine
I converted my basement brew space over to an indoor electric system and was ready to install a vent / hood in my wall. I am so glad that brewhardware talked me out of that plan. The steam slayer is amazing, it eliminates all steam and humidity from the boil at a fraction of the cost of a range hood, with much easier install at a fraction of the cost and with loud fans. I can’t recommend this product enough.

Great little unit and I can't wait to use it. Very sturdy. Make sure to read the details about the size of the body and gph spray nozzles so you get what you need. The very well explained write up helped me pick the right combination.

Had no steam in the basement, had about 7-8 gallons of waste during a 1 hour boil and was able to boil at 50% power on my Anvil Foundry

5 of 5 Works perfectly November 24, 2022

I brew in the basement. I tried an oven vent hood with high CFM and it didn't work well. With the Steam Slayer, I get literally no steam and a nice rolling boil.  Hot water discharged from the unit goes in a bucket with SanStar in it for sanitizing my fermenter and other needs.

Easy installation, just drill one hole. Recommend you purchase the drill bit from BrewHardware as well.

The instructions they provide in the actual product detail page are spot on.  This isn't hard and it simply works.

I used to vent the steam from an oven hood, but condensation would accumulate, some dripping back into the kettle.  The oven hood is also loud.  This thing makes no noise.  Use the hot water being discharged to clean or sanitize your FV.

Highly recommend this for any electric indoor brew system.

5 of 5 Awesome!!! October 15, 2022
Reviewer: Ryan from Downingtown PA
Had Bobby weld a TC port to the lid of my 15 gal kettle as part of an electric BIAB recirculating mash setup, (which is amazing, rock solid temp control) but the moisture in my basement was rather bad. Enter the BH steam slayer! Connected to my lid with a TC 90 degree elbow, 9 gph tip, discharge straight to a 5 gal bucket with half a gal of cold water in it and my basement is bone dry!!

5 of 5 It works as stated (and hoped!) September 29, 2022

Switched to an 6.5 Anvil a couple years back (vs. propane) to brew indoors. Various "moisture exhaust devices" didn't do it.
This design works. Ran a couple boils w/o grain to get the process down. 60 min boil off was about 1 liter at 110v & using a bucket & pump to recirculate cooling H20 cut down on water loss (added ice half way through).
If you are on the fence, go for it.
Bobby: thanks for the info.

5 of 5 Amazing and Innovative! April 19, 2022
Reviewer: Paddys House Ales and Lagers from Matawan, NJ United States
No steam while brewing with the Mash & Boil Series 2 in my basement.  Of course, you don't want to use it until hot break and first hop additions are added or while chilling.  I secured it to the Mash & Boil Series 2 lid which is similar to the distilling lid for the original Mash and Boil.  It has the large hole in the center.  Additionally, I needed the Anvil Foundry kit to attach it to my lid.  I used about 5 gallons of water during the boil to condense the steam.  Not a bad trade off.  No more drops of liquid forming on water pipes above my head in the basement.  Basement humidity remained very comfortable.  The unit will be extremely hot.  Use gloves!  Also, my water pressure is very high.  Therefore I didn't have to turn it up very high for the 6 GPH sprayer to start knocking the steam down.  You can clearly and easily tell when the water flow is strong enough that the steam stops eminating from your collection bucket which is helpful to use.
PRO TIP:. DO NOT SAVE THE WATER!

5 of 5 Works Great March 7, 2022
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Alberta
Installed onto my keggle setup for my basement indoor brewing. Works awesome and keeps the steam managed great. Just note that there is a small amount of steam that comes from the collection container when it first starts to condense due to the hot water coming out out the condenser.  Pour some cold water in your collection bucket first and the problem goes away.  Absolutely love this product and would recommend for anyone brewing indoors.

Setup: Canadian 1/2 barrel keg with a 240v 5500 ULWD element and an Electric Brewing 240v BIAB controller.
