Description

Brewers that use immersion chillers and also own a pump should know that recirculating the wort back into the kettle to whirlpool the wort makes for much faster cooling and will also make a concentrated pile of trub and hop particles in the center of the kettle bottom. This whirlpool port assembly installs high up on your kettle wall above the typical wort level and then extends down before curving to the side to force the recirculated liquid towards the sidewall. You can swivel the tube in either direction in the compression fitting.

What is included:

  • 1/2" MNPT x 1/2" Tube Compression 90 degree elbow (a nylon ferrule is installed)
  • 1/2" OD Stainless Steel Tubing with a 90 degree bend in either a 10" or 14" total drop length.

The standard setup positions the output at 10" below the center of the installed female bulkhead. If you want an extended drop of 14 inches (which you can cut shorter if you need to), select it in the dropdown.

The picture shows both the 10" and 14" drop versions in the same picture. You are buying only ONE of them. You do not get both for this price.

The drop length specifications are measured from the top of the fitting in your pot down to the bottom of the horizontal part of the tube. The tubing portion of the 10" drop measures about 8" and the 14" measures about 12". If you order the 14" drop tube only option, you are getting a 12" tube that will result in a 14" overall drop when assembled into the compression and elbow fitting. If you want a bent tube with a longer length, please contact us.

Install Notes:
You need to install or plan to install a soldered or welded in fitting up high in your kettle that will give you 1/2" NPT female threads on the inside. We recommend installing our Male/Female Pull Through Bulkhead for this purpose and then putting a quick disconnect on the outside. If you have no plans to weld or solder a bulkhead in for this whirlpool, note that we do sell the high port wirlpool in a weldless version.

5 of 5 Another great item May 3, 2022

I use this as the whirlpool return in the high port on my Spike kettle.  Just had to trim the tube tothe right length so it sits just above the shorty Spincycle.  It creates a nice whirlpool without being in the way of my brew basket.  Very well made.

5 of 5 Worked perfectly! February 24, 2020

I put this to the test over the weekend and it worked exactly as expected. Was able to whirlpool my wort and with my new wort chiller was able to cut my chilling task at least in half!

5 of 5 Just the ticket February 16, 2017

this thing is exactly what I was looking for. perfect way to get the whirlpool in the kettle and not have anything sticking out away from the wall more than 1/2".  Especially nice if you are using an immersion chiller, don't need anything else to get the coils caught up on.

5 of 5 In stock? December 14, 2016

This item looks awesome....   When will this item be back in stock?
Or would it be better to buy the weldless spincylce version and add a 1/2" FNPT to 1/2" MNPT fitting?   I currently have 1/2" FNPT welded on my kettles.
