No more rusty element bases after two batches! This element will make 2200 watts on 120 volts. The length of the element from the hex flange to the tip is 8.25 inches. At 65 watts per square inch, it's effectively a LWD element.
2200 watts on 120 volts will draw a little over 18 amps. For that reason, you will need a 20 amp circuit. This wattage is just enough to bring 4 gallons to a rolling boil or 5 gallons to a simmer. You will not be happy with this if you plan to boil 6 gallons for a 5 gallon finished batch size.
The base on this unit stainless steel and will not rust. The threads are standard 1" NPSL like 99% of the elements you'll find out there. Weldless installs such as with our EWL enclosure kits will require a 1.25" hole in your vessel.
By default these elements will not fit down inside a 1.5" TC RIMS tube. If that was your planned use, you need to select "offset" in the options drop down and we will put enough bend on the element to get it centered upon the base.
Note: the manufacturing process causes some heat discoloration on the stainless and they are not polished or visually stunning in any way. While we typically like our equipment to look shiny as possible, this item is more about durability and function.
