Single vessel all grain brewing is catching on in a big way and one of the most respected reusable bags come from another New Jersey native, Mike Wilser. These are the bags we use when we teach our beginner all grain seminar class so we are offering them for sale by popular demand.
The bags are made of Polyester voile fabric and are triple stitched with polyester thread. They are very strong and are capable of lifting the largest of grain bills easily, yet also permit nice runoff of the brewing wort. Bags come with strong (200 lb break) nylon cord drawstring, with cord lock pull to cinch bag over and around kettle top rim, keeping the bag secure to the kettle for easy mashing.
The large size bag is suited for pots of up to 16" in diameter such as the Bayou Classic 1060 (15.5 gallon pot), Bayou Classic1316 (16 gallon), Concord 60 quart, and 10 gallon Igloo and Rubbermaid round beverage coolers. Simply check the diameter of your pot and if it's in the range of 15-16 gallons with a diameter of 16.5" or less, this is the one for you. We stock other sizes as well.
Note that these bags do handle high temps but you should use low flame and constantly stir anytime heat is being applied to avoid scorching the bag on the bottom of the pot. Effort should also be made to keep the bag from solidly resting on a heating element in an electric kettle.
