This is a relatively unique adapter. Yes, it's 1.5" TC x 1/2" Female thread but the threaded side of the fitting has a machined groove and included oring that will seal against whatever surface it touches. The intent for this fitting is to adapt Blichmann's HERMS coil through wall fittings to accommodate TC in/outs though it can probably be reimagined for a few other uses.
